Ground Zero Youth Ministry

Written by Evan on Apr 01, 2013

Hosanna City Church’s Ground Zero Youth Ministry is made up of Junior High and High School Students. Our goal is to Win, Disciple, and Send.

Win- Students through our Monday night service @ 6pm

Disciple- Students to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, and with their fellow students through smaller and more intimate small groups.

Send- Students out into their schools and communities to serve and preach the Gospel.

Peter wrote about the Church in 1st Peter 2:9,

“…You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”

It is with the same purpose of heart that we gather to Win – Disciple – Send.

Win: The name of our youth group, Ground Zero, defines the win purpose of the ministry. We present the students with an opportunity to have a one-on-one encounter with Jesus Christ at Ground Zero, which is the Foot of the Cross, and connect their hands with Jesus. Our Monday nights will consist of worship, verse-by-verse systematic teaching of the Scriptures, and fellowship.

Disciple: We will train our students to become disciples of Jesus Christ through our small group studies, which are smaller and split up according to age and gender to allow for a more intimate time of growth and worship. Small groups will be held at our youth leaders’ houses.

Send: To recognize and develop the gifts of those we are discipling, so as to find the best opportunity for them to use those gifts and then send them out to be used by God. We will send them to their communities and schools by means of student-run outreaches.

We are very excited for your interest and we hope to see you around!

My name is Alexander Barraza. I have been involved in ministry for little over 2 years, and have been involved in the lives of young people for as long as I can remember. I am accompanied by my beautiful wife, Sara, who is a High School teacher and also has a heart for young people. Our goal is to help serve and teach young people in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
