Why Is What We Believe Important?
Our beliefs describe how we view God, Jesus, the Bible, man, and many significant aspects of our faith. These beliefs in turn affect how we relate to each in our identity as Christ followers.
In Essential Beliefs
We Have Unity
There is one Body and one Spirit…there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of us all…
— Ephesians 4:4–6 (NASB)
In Non-Essential Beliefs
We Have Liberty
Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters…Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls…So then each of us will give an account of himself to God…So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God.
— Romans 14:1, 4, 12, 22 (___)
In All Our Beliefs
We Have Charity
…If I hold in my mind not only all human knowledge but also the very secrets of God, and if I have the faith that can move mountains—but I have no love, I amount to nothing at all.
— 1 Corinthians 13:2 (Ph)
Our Essential Beliefs
Hosanna City Church
We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible, authoritative Word of God. Therefore, our ministry emphasizes the regular exposition of God’s Word in its entirety.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His Sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in his promised return in power and glory.
We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature, and that men are justified on the simple ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ and that only by God’s grace and through faith are we saved.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life; we further believe His power and gifts are available to believers today.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: They that are saved unto the resurrection of life; and they that are lost unto destruction of eternal damnation.
We believe legitimate sexual relations are exercised solely within marriage, in addition, We believe marriage has been ordained by God. Therefore, we recognize marriage as exclusively the legal union of one man and one woman in which such union is a lifetime commitment.
We believe it is important to uphold Scriptural practices of the early church. Therefore, we hold to water baptism and the regular receiving of the Lord’s Supper.
